Pantone (The US colour matching company) have released their shade of the year for 2017; greenery. “A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings” reads Pantone’s website. And 2017 certainly seems to be one for new beginnings! Here’s a few Greenery inspired ideas for you have a look at.
We are in the business of doors, so it seems appropriate to start there. And why not start at the front door. Brightly coloured front doors are a great way to make your home stand out from the crowd, and can even increase the value of your home. The front door says a lot about your home, and the colour can even affect your mood. This Georgian front door shows how you can pair a green door with brass door furniture to great effect.
And here is an example of a green Victorian front door we did last year. A bit bright for some people, but our customer was very happy! You can choose the shade you want, and we’ll paint the door for you.
Green kitchen ideas
The kitchen is the hub of the home, and if yours is anything like ours it can sometimes feel a bit chaotic! A relaxing shade of green is perfect to keep things from boiling over. Match a shade of green with seasonal flowers and houseplants to keep going with the green theme. This shade works especially well with country style kitchens. This kitchen is a great example of how you can use the Pantone greenery shade to great effect, and it balances nicely with the wooden surface tops.
The garden shed
The garden shed is a refuge for many of us in the UK, and with spring now arrived, now’s the time to give yours a little touch up. Don’t opt for a horrible shade of dark brown, instead go for green, to camouflage your hideaway. Nobody will manage to disturb you then!
A reclaimed set of wooden garage doors have so much more character than a white modern roller, and you could do a lot worse than paint them a nice shade of green. We have some lovely garage doors available on our website here.
At Historic Doors we specialise in sourcing and renovating the best period doors. As part of our renovation and finishing services you can choose whatever colour you like. We won’t just restrict you to green! If you are interested in any doors, please get in touch with Stick at email@example.com.
